Cradle of Civilizations, Capital of Tolerance: The Ancient City of Konya

Located in the heart of Anatolia, Konya is a veritable open-air museum with thousands of years of history. Home to Çatalhöyük, one of the world's oldest settlements, this ancient land served as the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk State and has become a shining example of history.

When Konya is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is undoubtedly the great philosopher Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, who embraced the entire world with his words, "Come, come, whoever you are!" The spiritual atmosphere that permeates every corner of the city culminates in the Mevlana Mausoleum, also known as the "Green Dome."

Historic Alaeddin Hill, and the Karatay and İnce Minareli Madrasahs, with their unique tile work, carry the splendor of Seljuk architecture to the present day. This profound history is also reflected in the city's culinary culture. Among the rich flavors inherited from the Seljuk cuisine, dishes like world-famous etli ekmek (meat bread), oven kebab (okra soup), okra soup, and tirit (tirit) make Konya a culinary destination.

Significant advancements in healthcare infrastructure, particularly in recent years, have made Konya a hub for healthcare in the region. Thanks to the modern City Hospital, well-established university hospitals, and specialized training and research clinics, high standards of care are provided to both local residents and international patients seeking health tourism.

These modern advances are supported by social and cultural projects such as the Tropical Butterfly Garden, home to Europe's largest butterfly flight area; the Konya Science Center, Türkiye's first science center; and the meticulously restored and revitalized historic village of Sille.

With all these qualities, Konya offers its visitors a unique experience steeped in history, culture, spirituality, and flavor.
